There is a lot of discussion about this between the fans, the most prominent opinions are that the cabbie was either possessed by Caine or a Malkavian who believes he is Caine. For sure both planned to use the sarcophagus to cause trouble, like Smiling Jack says at the end: "Hey, it happened just like you said. They never even knew what hit 'em. Threw that sarcophagus out there and they just tore each other up tryin' to get to it.

Well he had that wierd aura at the end and he seemed unafraid of other vampires during the blood hunt. So I would say he was immensely powerful or under some great protection so Caine was probably involved. Alhough I'm sure the writers left the ending open to interputation.

Still, Caine's so powerful it wouldn't surprise me if he had some previously unknown ability to possess another vampire remotely. Hell maybe he can even be in two places at once. Personally, I think the Bloodlines story is a lot more interesting if it really is Caine in that cab. I don't wanna uninstall the patch just to be sure.

Can someone clarify it, please? Last edited by Kon-Vara ; 5 Feb, am. Showing 1 - 15 of 28 comments. I personally believe the Cab Driver is in fact Caine, the game is constantly making us think so and it even hints that it is in the files. The Cab Driver seems to know much more than he is telling and his overall feel is much more mysterious than any other character in the game.

Ultimately however, it is still not totally proven whether he is Caine or not, and it's left up to personal choice. But based on the things the game does and the name of the folder, I personally would say he was meant to be Caine. I think a lot of other people have the same belief I do about him. But again, at the end of the day it is still just a mere theory that likely will never be proven true or false. As the maker of the Unofficial Patch I just want to state that this was all already in the original game and the patch didn't change it.

Accepted Answer. If you are playing as a Nosferatu the cab simply does not show up and you are required to travel to the different areas by way of a map in the sewers. Yeah, Nosferatu go down into the sewers like with the Ocean House ghost amulet task and there must find a map of the city not the sewer map to cross map to map. User Info: AMP Other Answers. Werner Spahl only! But they have those weaknesses too, right?

Yeah, yeah, but get this! The oldest dude? We'll crank his powers up to eleven because he's all super-cool, right, and it doesn't matter that it makes no sense!

One more thing! How about we just remove those silly weaknesses because he's that badass? I totally deserve a promotion. Besides, it would fit better in the whole "punishment" thing if he was weaker than any other vampire. He sires his accursed progeny and realizes that they're more powerful than he is.

No dominon for you, daft prick. The Dark aura is mostly a sign of power, or immortality in the game. Bertrum also has the black aura, as does the Serial Killer in the diner I believe, and several other vamps as well. OK, maybe some very potent archmages, but they cheat - they just rewrite the Universe to their whim Oh right, they get sh! Forget, I asked. That's probably one of the things Requiem got right - you don't need a freaking plot device looming over your game - vampires may be descended from Caine as a result of a curse, then again they may be something completely different.

Nobody knows, and nobody may never know, except if the characters go out of their way to search for ancient lore, and even then the ST has the right to just make it up and make it sensible - yes, God cursed Caine, but he isn't a master of everything and with stats of YES - he is, say, just a miserable lowly vampire roughly equivalent of a Ancillae, but can never gain more power. And can never be truly killed, which doesn't just mean he's unstoppable, but probably over a long period of pain while he "lives" again.

Or another logical explanation is that Caine just freaking die - you know he was never anything more thatn other Kindre, so he just died as one of them.
